Home prices across the Nation rose for the sixth month in a row for stats through November. In the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho areas the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors reported that December was the third consecutive month with median sales prices going up - from $170,000 in October to $175,750 in November and $175,875 in December.

The $8,000 tax credit is still available for first time home buyers and home buyers who haven't owned a home for 3 years, and there's a $6,500 tax credit available for people who have owned their homes for 5 years. The IRS has just finalized the rules for qualifying for this tax credit.

This credit is good through April 30th, so we anticipate home prices to continue to rise along with the demand. Now is a great time to sell a house if you are thinking of listing your home for sale. The buyers are definitely out looking.
